Using the organizational and conceptual strategy of the Triptych this series of images captures the current conditions of first (home), second (work/school), and third (leisure/entertainment) places while proposing ways they can be changed for the future. Existing conditions are shown in black and white while new proposals are shown in color as an added layer to the image. First place shows how the strict room organization of the Levittown home establishes presribed modes of domesticity and suggests an alternative layering of spaces. Second place shows a laptop and work-from-home set up and playfully proposes a type of working space that emulates the gridded screens and pastoral backgrounds of video conferencing. Finally, third place shows a storefront and how the street space might be adapted to better accomodate pedestrians and other outdoor events.
