Jay Schairbaum

About

Jay is a project designer with more than five years of experience in the architecture industry. His work, mostly with public and institutional clients, focuses on the public’s engagement with designed and built spaces. Having experience in all phases of project delivery at a wide range of scales, from a 4,000 SF State Parks owned and operated welcome center to a 100,000 SF residence hall for a leading research institute, he approaches each new project as an opportunity for innovation, discovery, and social engagement. With a deep appreciation for the collaborative nature of the construction industry, he values the expertise and knowledge each trade brings to the task at hand. Design and construction are most impactful when by and for the public. He believes creative solutions and sustainable practices are necessary to ensure a healthy and equitable future climate.

He holds a B.S. in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) and an M.Arch from the University of Michigan Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning (TCAUP).

Jay lives in Brooklyn, NY.
