Jay Schairbaum

About

Jay is a project designer with six years of experience in the architecture industry. His work, mostly with public and institutional clients, focuses on the public’s engagement with designed and built spaces. Having experience in all phases of project delivery at a wide range of scales, he approaches each new project as an opportunity for innovation, discovery, and social engagement — from a 4,000 SF welcome center to a 100,000 SF university residence hall. With a deep appreciation for the collaborative nature of the construction industry, he values the expertise and knowledge each trade brings to the task at hand. Design and construction are most impactful when they serve the public good. He believes creative solutions and sustainable practices are necessary to ensure a healthy, equitable, and sustainable future.

He holds a B.S. in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) and an M.Arch from the University of Michigan Taubman College of Architecture and Urban Planning (TCAUP).

Jay lives in Brooklyn, NY.
